Because “all roads lead to Rome<\/em>“, there was no way we could visit\u00a0Italy<\/em>\u00a0without visiting this gorgeous place.\u00a0We took the train from Florence\u00a0<\/em>and headed to the “city of the 7 hills<\/em>“.\u00a0The journey took 1h40m, and tickets for two people cost \u20ac67.<\/span><\/p>\n

We stayed in Rome<\/strong>\u00a0for 5 days and opted for a city pass.\u00a0After much searching, we agreed that the best option is the\u00a0Rome Turbopass 4 days<\/strong>\u00a0which includes public transport tickets.\u00a0The price was \u20ac267\/2 people and included entrances to selected sights, skip-the-line for Colosseum<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Vatican Museums<\/em>\u00a0and 24 hours hop-on hop-off panoramic bus.\u00a0Optionally you can choose transfer from the airport.\u00a0Find out more details on\u00a0the turbopass website<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

I recommend moving around\u00a0Rome<\/strong>\u00a0with public transport and not renting a car.\u00a0It’s quite a busy city and parking near major sights is expensive (if you’re lucky enough to find a spot).<\/span><\/p>\n

There are several types of tickets for public transport: single ticket valid for 100 minutes \u2013 \u20ac1.5, card with 10 trips \u2013 \u20ac15, Rome 24h\/48h\/72h \u2013 between \u20ac7 and \u20ac18 or ticket valid for 7 days \u2013 \u20ac24.\u00a0Buses run frequently and the network is quite extensive, so you can get everywhere easily.<\/span><\/p>\n

Although we like to discover a new city on foot, we chose public transport here to see as many sights as possible and get around faster.\u00a0Five days didn’t seem like enough to visit the whole city at leisure, but we ticked off the most important attractions.<\/span><\/p>\n
