The third day<\/span><\/strong> in\u00a0<\/span>New York <\/span><\/em>started with a walk in the financial district of the city.\u00a0<\/span>Wall Street <\/strong>is a well-known street for the American financial services industry and the home of the New York Stock Exchange<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Also in this area is the\u00a0Charging Bull<\/strong>\u00a0(also called the\u00a0Bull of Wall Street<\/strong>) \u2013 a massive bronze sculpture weighing 3 tons and depicting a bull as a symbol of financial power and prosperity.<\/span><\/p>\n

We then headed to\u00a0<\/span>the 9\/11 Museum<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0which chronicles the tragic story of the September 11, 2001\u00a0<\/span>Twin Towers attacks and the 1993\u00a0<\/span><\/em>World Trade Center<\/span><\/em>\u00a0bombings\u00a0<\/span>through artifacts, testimonies, and survivor accounts.\u00a0<\/span>Ticket price: $28\/person.<\/span><\/p>\n

The museum’s largest room is 15,000 square feet and has a 60-foot-high ceiling, and houses an original portion of the\u00a0World Trade Center<\/em>‘s retaining wall that withstood the attack.<\/span><\/p>\n

The “Reflecting Absence<\/em>” reflecting pools\u00a0outside the museum honor those killed in the 9\/11 terrorist attacks and the 1993 bombing of the\u00a0World Trade Center<\/em><\/a>\u00a0and represent, according to architect\u00a0Michael Arad<\/em>, “absence made visible: although water flows into the voids, they cannot never be filled”.\u00a0The memorial was opened on September 11, 2011, 10 years after the attacks on\u00a0the Twin Towers<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Next to\u00a0<\/span>the 9\/11 Museum<\/span><\/em>\u00a0stands out\u00a0<\/span>The Oculus<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 a large white building with steel spikes, shaped like a wing pointing to the sky.\u00a0<\/span>The building is a transportation hub and commercial center built after the devastating attacks of September 11, as part of the\u00a0World Trade Center<\/em>\u00a0reconstruction plan to bring business back to the area.<\/span><\/p>\n

From the\u00a0World Trade Center<\/em>\u00a0we went to the\u00a0Brooklyn Bridge<\/strong> \u2013 the first bridge that connected Brooklyn <\/em>with Manhattan<\/em>. Walking the bridge offers some of the most famous and beautiful panoramas of <\/span>New York<\/span><\/em>.\u00a0<\/span>With the\u00a0New York\u00a0<\/em>Pass\u00ae<\/em>\u00a0you can choose guided tours to learn about the history of the building or rent bikes from\u00a0Unlimited Biking<\/em>\u00a0and explore the city by pedaling.<\/span><\/p>\n

After walking from one end to the other on the\u00a0Brooklyn Bridge<\/em>, we decided to visit\u00a0China Town <\/strong>and Little Italy<\/strong>.\u00a0If you love Asian food you should not miss\u00a0China Town<\/em>\u00a0which attracts tourists to its many Chinese and\u00a0Southeast Asian<\/em> restaurants.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nearby is\u00a0<\/span>Little Italy<\/span><\/strong>, where we stopped and ate at the first pizzeria opened in the\u00a0<\/span>United States <\/span><\/em>(1905): <\/span>Lombardi’s Pizza<\/span><\/strong><\/a>. <\/span>Little Italy<\/em>\u00a0includes numerous souvenir shops, restaurants, gelaterias and traditional Italian bakeries.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rockefeller Center<\/strong>\u00a0is a\u00a0complex<\/a>\u00a0consisting of 19 commercial buildings and known especially for hosting the annual Christmas tree and ice rink.<\/span><\/p>\n
