Wilhelma<\/strong>\u00a0is a botanical-zoological garden in the\u00a0Bad Cannstatt<\/em>\u00a0area and one of the most visited zoos in\u00a0Germany<\/em>, with approximately one million visitors per year.\u00a0It is the second largest zoo in the country, after the one in\u00a0Berlin<\/em><\/a>. Wilhelma<\/em>\u00a0houses around 11,500 animals from all over the world on an area of \u200b\u200b30 hectares.\u00a0In addition to animals, you can also admire 6,000 species of plants from all climatic zones of the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"At the main entrance there is a greenhouse with succulent plants (aloe, agave, desert roses, cacti), then the transition is made to the tropical garden (citrus, palms and ferns).\u00a0Today,\u00a0Wilhelma<\/em>\u00a0is home to 8,000 orchids of 976 species.\u00a0There is also\u00a0the Amazonian House<\/em>\u00a0opened in 2000 and it is represented by the Brazilian forest, where the temperature is between 24\u00b0C and 28\u00b0C and the humidity is 80%.\u00a0The Amazon House<\/em>\u00a0includes 2,000 plants from 350 species, including bananas, cocoa trees and papayas.\u00a0In addition to the plants, inside there are 50 free birds and a small terrarium with snakes specific to the area (boa, anaconda) and turtles.<\/span><\/p>\n

Inside the garden there are three ponds, the largest being used for the presentation of water lilies and the avenue lined with 70 magnolias of many varieties, chrysanthemums, tulips, daffodils, 50 wild species of hydrangeas or camellias.\u00a0Over 10,000 unique species of flowers can be seen during the blooming season.<\/span><\/p>\n

The price for visiting the garden is \u20ac16\/adult and \u20ac8\/student.<\/span><\/p>\n

Neues Schloss<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Schlossplatz<\/strong>.\u00a0The Neues Schloss<\/em> (New Palace<\/em>) was built between 1746 and 1807 as a residence for the former dukes and kings of\u00a0W\u00fcrttemberg<\/em>.\u00a0Together with\u00a0Schlossplatz<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Altes Schloss<\/strong> (Old Palace<\/em>) it forms the urban center of the state capital.\u00a0Today, the Ministry of Finance<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0the Ministry of Culture<\/em> have their headquarters inside the palace.\u00a0Some of the halls can only be visited during guided tours.<\/span><\/p>\n

Schlossplatz<\/strong>\u00a0is the heart of\u00a0Stuttgart<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 with artesian fountains, pigeons and green alleys,\u00a0the Palace Square<\/em>\u00a0is where the biggest events in the city are organized, and the rest of the time it is the relaxation area for the locals.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the immediate vicinity is\u00a0K\u00f6nigstra\u00dfe<\/strong> (King’s Street) \u2013 <\/em>Stuttgart<\/em>‘s main shopping and pedestrian street.\u00a0With a length of 1.2 km,\u00a0K\u00f6nigstra\u00dfe is one of\u00a0<\/em>Germany<\/em>‘s busiest shopping streets, lined with clothing, shoe or furniture shops, cafes and terraces.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

At the end of the street is the Central Station<\/strong> (Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof<\/strong>).\u00a0The station tower was built between 1914 and 1928 and is 58 meters high, crowned by the\u00a0Mercedes<\/em> logo.\u00a0You can climb the station tower without charging a fee, the visiting hours are: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 09:00 – 19:00, Thursday 10:00 – 21:00, Saturday, Sunday 10:00 – 18:00.<\/span><\/p>\n

Right outside the station, on\u00a0K\u00f6nigstra\u00dfe<\/em>, is\u00a0the Tourist Information Center<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0“i-Punkt”<\/strong>\u00a0where you can ask for a map of the city or various information you need.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Mercedes-Benz Museum<\/strong>\u00a0is by far Stuttgart’s most visited museum \u2013 the birthplace of the modern automobile.\u00a0The Mercedes Museum<\/em>\u00a0presents the evolution of the famous brand over time, from the first motor carriage to the present day.<\/span><\/p>\n
