Wuppertal<\/strong>\u00a0is a city in the state of North<\/em>\u00a0Rhine<\/em>-Westphalia<\/em>, located in the\u00a0Bergisches<\/em> region, being the capital and the economic, cultural and industrial center of the region.\u00a0Wuppertal<\/em>, which translates as “Wupper river valley<\/em>“, was founded in 1929 by the merger of the old towns of\u00a0Barmen<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Elberfeld<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

In order not to bore you too much with the history and geography of the city, I will go straight to what we visited in this city in the north-west\u00a0<\/span>of Germany<\/span><\/em>, or what we did not visit, because we had the opportunity to get to\u00a0<\/span>Wuppertal<\/span><\/em>\u00a0one day from Monday, when all the tourist attractions are closed and in addition it was the day after\u00a0<\/span>Christmas<\/span><\/em>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

One of the main tourist attractions is the\u00a0Schwebebahn<\/strong>\u00a0or suspended monorail, inaugurated on March 1, 1901. You can find the history, technical data and much more information\u00a0here<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0Now\u00a0the schwebebahn<\/em>\u00a0is the main means of transport for around 80,000 passengers who use it daily.<\/span><\/p>\n
